Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger (* 12. August 1887 in Wien-Erdberg; † 4. Jänner 1961 in Wien-Alsergrund) war ein österreichischer Physiker, Wissenschaftstheoretiker und Philosoph. Er gilt als einer der Begründer der Quantenmechanik und erhielt 1933 den Nobelpreis für Physik, geteilt mit Paul Dirac, für die Entdeckung neuer produktiver Formen der Atomtheorie. Schrödingers Katze ist ein bekanntes Gedankenexperiment.
