Amos (hebräisch עָמוֹס [a'mos], altgriechisch Αμως) war ein sozialkritischer Prophet aus dem Südreich Juda, der im 8. Jahrhundert v. Chr. im Nordreich Israel wirkte. Das ihm zugeschriebene Buch gehört zum Zwölfprophetenbuch im Tanach, der hebräischen Bibel. Amos ist der erste der Propheten, dessen Worte aufgezeichnet und in Buchform überliefert wurden (Schriftprophetie).
