George Galloway (* 16. August 1954 in Dundee) ist ein britischer Politiker und TV-/Radio-Kommentator. Zwischen 1987 und 2010 sowie zwischen 2012 und 2015 war Galloway Parlamentsabgeordneter, zunächst für die Labour Party und später für die Respect Party - The Unity Coalition, der er 2004 beitrat und die er später bis zu ihrer Auflösung 2016 führte. 2024 saß er für die Workers Party of Britain für wenige Monate erneut im Parlament. Im Oktober 2003 wurde Galloway wegen seiner Ablehnung des Kriegs gegen den Irak und der Aufforderung an britische Soldaten, illegale Befehle nicht zu befolgen, aus der Labour Party ausgeschlossen. Galloway trat regelmäßig in den staatlichen Propagandasendern des Iran und Russlands auf, was ihn 2014 zum Abgeordneten mit den dritthöchsten Nebeneinkünften machte. Seine Sendungen im englischsprachigen iranischen Staatsfernsehen wurden wegen Parteilichkeit durch die unabhängige britische Medienaufsicht gerügt.
