George Raymond Richard Martin (* 20. September 1948 in Bayonne, New Jersey) ist ein US-amerikanischer Science-Fiction-, Fantasy- und Horror-Schriftsteller, Drehbuchautor und Produzent. Sein bekanntestes Werk ist die Fantasy-Saga Das Lied von Eis und Feuer, von der er zwischen 1996 und 2011 bislang fünf Bände veröffentlichte; zwei weitere Bände sind derzeit in Planung.
