Viktor Emil Frankl (* 26. März 1905 in Wien, Österreich-Ungarn; † 2. September 1997 in Wien, Österreich) war ein österreichischer Neurologe und Psychiater. Er begründete die Logotherapie und Existenzanalyse, die vielfach auch als die „dritte Wiener Schule der Psychotherapie“ bezeichnet wird. Eines seiner bekanntesten Werke ist das im Jahr 1946 erschienene Buch … trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen, in dem Frankl seine Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen in vier verschiedenen Konzentrationslagern, darunter Auschwitz, während des Zweiten Weltkriegs schildert.
