Wolodymyr Oleksandrowytsch Selenskyj (ukrainisch Володимир Олександрович Зеленський; * 25. Januar 1978 in Krywyj Rih, Ukrainische SSR, Sowjetunion) ist seit Mai 2019 Präsident der Ukraine. Nach seinem Jurastudium erlangte er in der Ukraine und in Russland Popularität als Schauspieler, Komiker, Regisseur, Fernsehmoderator, Filmproduzent und Drehbuchautor. Nachdem Selenskyj im Frühjahr 2019 den ersten Wahlgang und die Stichwahl der Präsidentschaftswahl in der Ukraine mit etwa 73 Prozent klar vor dem amtierenden Petro Poroschenko gewonnen hatte, wurde er im Mai 2019 Staatspräsident. Gemäß der Verfassung, die keine Wahlen im Kriegszustand vorsieht, bleibt er legitimer Präsident, solange eine Neuwahl durch das nach dem russischen Überfall verhängte Kriegsrecht ausgesetzt ist.
