Aryabhata I. (Devanagari: आर्यभट, Āryabhaṭa; * 476; † um 550) war ein bedeutender indischer Mathematiker und Astronom. Er wurde in Ashmaka (im heutigen Bundesstaat Telangana, Zentralindien) geboren und lebte später in Kusumapura, das Bhaskara I. (629) später als Pataliputra (das heutige Patna) identifizierte.
