Jiddu Krishnamurti (Telugu జిడ్డు కృష్ణమూర్తి Jiḍḍu Kṛṣṇamūrti; * 11. Mai 1895 in Madanapalle, Indien; † 17. Februar 1986 in Ojai, Kalifornien) war ein indischer Philosoph. In seinen wichtigsten Veröffentlichungen thematisiert Krishnamurti spirituelle Fragen, wie die Erlangung vollständiger geistiger Freiheit durch Meditation, aber auch religiöse und philosophische Themen. Er wuchs unter dem Einfluss führender Persönlichkeiten der Theosophischen Gesellschaft auf und erlangte Bekanntheit, speziell durch Annie Besant, die ihn 1910 zum kommenden „Weltlehrer“ erklärte und für ihn den theosophischen Order of the Star in the East gründete. Anfang der 1920er Jahre begann er, sich von der theosophischen Strömung loszusagen.
