Elieser „Elie“ Wiesel ([ˈɛli_viˈzɛl]; geboren am 30. September 1928 in Sighetu Marmației, Königreich Rumänien; gestorben am 2. Juli 2016 in New York City, Vereinigte Staaten) war ein rumänisch-US-amerikanischer Schriftsteller, Hochschullehrer und Publizist. Als Überlebender des Holocaust verfasste er zahlreiche Romane und sonstige Publikationen zu diesem Thema und erhielt 1986 den Friedensnobelpreis für seine Vorbildfunktion im Kampf gegen Gewalt, Unterdrückung und Rassismus.
