Enrico Fermi (* 29. September 1901 in Rom; † 28. November 1954 in Chicago, Illinois) war ein italienisch-amerikanischer Physiker. Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Kernphysiker des 20. Jahrhunderts. Im Jahre 1938 erhielt Fermi den Nobelpreis für Physik.
