Freddie Mercury (* 5. September 1946 als Farrokh Bulsara in Sansibar, Sultanat Sansibar; † 24. November 1991 in Kensington, London) war ein britischer Musiker und ein bedeutender Rocksänger der 1970er und 1980er Jahre. Er wurde als Mitbegründer, Songwriter und Leadsänger der Band Queen bekannt. Mercury schrieb Welthits wie Bohemian Rhapsody (1975), We Are the Champions (1977), Don’t Stop Me Now (1978) und Living on My Own (1985/1993).
