George Smith Patton jr. (* 11. November 1885 in San Gabriel, Kalifornien; † 21. Dezember 1945 in Heidelberg, Württemberg-Baden) war ein General der US Army. Er befehligte im Zweiten Weltkrieg das II. US-Korps in Nordafrika, die 7th US-Army auf Sizilien und nach der Landung in der Normandie die 3rd US-Army an der Westfront. Vom 9. Mai bis 9. Oktober 1945 war er US-Militärgouverneur von Bayern.
