Nadine Gordimer (* 20. November 1923 in Springs, Transvaal, heute Gauteng; † 13. Juli 2014 in Johannesburg) war eine südafrikanische Schriftstellerin. Ihre Romane, Erzählungen und Essays behandeln vor allem die südafrikanische Apartheidpolitik und deren zerstörerische Folgen sowohl für die schwarze als auch für die weiße Bevölkerung. 1974 erhielt Gordimer den Booker Prize, 1991 wurde sie mit dem Nobelpreis für Literatur ausgezeichnet.
