Pedro Almodóvar Caballero (* 25. September 1949 in Calzada de Calatrava, Ciudad Real) ist ein spanischer Filmregisseur, Produzent und Drehbuchautor. Almodóvar gilt als der international bekannteste spanische Regisseur des zeitgenössischen Kinos. Seine Tragikomödie Alles über meine Mutter wurde im Jahr 2000 mit einem Oscar und einem Golden Globe für den besten fremdsprachigen Film ausgezeichnet.
