Ronnie James Dio (* 10. Juli 1942 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire als Ronald James Padavona; † 16. Mai 2010 in Los Angeles) war ein US-amerikanischer Hard-Rock- und Heavy-Metal-Sänger der Bands Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio und Heaven and Hell. Er gilt in diesem Bereich der Musik als einer der bedeutendsten Sänger. Dio wird zudem oft als Erfinder der Mano-cornuta- bzw. Devil-Horns-Handgeste genannt, die sich als Gruß in der Metal-Szene weltweit etablierte. Da Dio diese sehr prominent verwendete, trug er zur Popularisierung der Geste bei.
