George Herbert Mead (* 27. Februar 1863 in South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA; † 26. April 1931 in Chicago, USA) war ein US-amerikanischer Philosoph, Soziologe und Psychologe. Er studierte unter anderem in Leipzig und Berlin und war von 1894 bis zu seinem Tod Professor für Philosophie und Sozialpsychologie an der University of Chicago.
