Albert Camus [albɛ(ː)ʁ kamy] (* 7. November 1913 in Mondovi, Französisch-Algerien, heute Dréan, Algerien; † 4. Januar 1960 nahe Villeblevin, Frankreich) war ein französischer Schriftsteller, Philosoph und Religionskritiker. 1957 erhielt er für sein publizistisches Gesamtwerk den Nobelpreis für Literatur.
