Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (russisch Елена Петровна Блаватская Jelena Petrowna Blawatskaja, englisch Yelena Petrovna Blavatskaya; * 31. Julijul. / 12. August 1831greg. in Jekaterinoslaw, Neurussland, Russisches Kaiserreich als Helena Petrowna von Hahn-Rottenstein; † 8. Mai 1891 in London) war eine ukrainisch-deutsche Okkultistin. Ihre Hauptwerke Isis Unveiled (Isis entschleiert, 1877) und The Secret Doctrine (Die Geheimlehre, 1888) trugen maßgeblich zur Begründung der modernen oder anglo-indischen Theosophie bei und erlangten einen bedeutenden Einfluss auf weite Bereiche der modernen Esoterik. 1875 gründete Blavatsky mit Henry Steel Olcott die Theosophische Gesellschaft.
